Elizabeth Ann Wilson

October 8, 1951 - December 19, 2021

We, the family of Elizabeth Ann Wilson, wish to advise that Elizabeth passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 of brain cancer. She was 70 years old. Elizabeth was a graduate of Holy Angels High School, Sydney, as well as Holland College, PEI, studying journalism. As a mature student she enrolled at St. Mary's University, Halifax and graduated with a degree in Religious Studies. Her work history is as follows: Graduating from Holland College, she spent time as a reporter with newspapers in Truro, NS, Moncton, NB and the Cape Breton Post, Sydney. Moving to Toronto, she became Managing Editor of Canada's National Catholic Newspaper, The Register. Returning to Sydney, she was Director of Annulments for the Diocese of Antigonish. She was employed there for 20 years retiring 4 years ago. Elizabeth was an avid reader and loved to travel, travelling across Canada and parts of Europe. Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Mary, Sydney; brothers, Robert, Sydney, John (Johanne), Sydney Forks, William (Bernice), Halifax, Tom (Marie), Sydney; sister-in-law, Ruby Wilson, Westmount and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Roberta (Inness) Wilson and her brother, former CBRM Police Chief, David Wilson. As per Elizabeth wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service or visitation. www.sydneycremation.ca
